The 53 is powered with 12V71 Detroit Diesels 650 hp with approximately 1300 original hours. In 2010 the starboard engine was rebuilt by the Detroit Diesel Dealer in New York. The 1271 being a sleeved engine was rebuilt while while lying in its' engine bed. The engine had new new cylinder kits, pistons, bearings, injectors installed and her heads re-manufactured. All Turbos and heat exchangers were removed and serviced as needed. At the same time hoses, clamps, thermostats and senders were replaced. The port engine's exhaust was inspected and serviced at the same time. The boat was then sea trialed with the dealer under full load and checked for full RPM and for any leaks.

Sales Person's Remarks
The boat is presently in the water for the summer season. Her superstructure and hull is original Hatteras awl grip. There have been a few spots that have been re-sprayed on her deck house but all and all looks good. Walking around her decks and cockpit, all seems to be solid and no signs of water intrusion. The engine room is neat and orderly and shows no signs of wear or neglect. All major systems were working according to her owner spring 2013.
