Downeast Yachts Schooner Downeaster

Breeze Maven is a rare and beautiful vessel; a schooner, built in SOLID fiberglass with foam cored decks as a production boat in California to USA boat building standards. She carries five working sails and since none of these sails are very large, this boat is easy to sail. 'Breeze Maven' is fast and closewinded and exceptionally comfortable offshore. Her large tankage and voluminous storage make her an ideal long distance cruiser and her layout made her a successful captained charter vessel in previous ownership. 

Breeze Maven has twice won the Sweethearts of the Caribbean sailing regatta and has made several offshore passages to and from the United States.  

The recent upgrades include NEW Yankee Jib 2007, the Main and Fore Staysails new in 2005. . Chainplates were replaced in 2004 and 2006. The headliners in the fore cabins were done at the same time as the ones in the aft cabin, 2006. There are all new (except one) Newfound Metals bronze opening ports added 2005 and hatch plastics were changed then too. The teak on the cockpit seats were new in 2006. The bowsprit was new in 2006 as well. ALL the cabin foam and fabric was replaced with new in 2007. The boat is set up to be completley energy self-sufficient.  More recently the refridgeration was replaced in 2011, the engine has been gone completely over to make it leak free, problem free and ready to go anywhere. At this time she is actively cruising the Caribbean with her owners and ready to hand over immediately.
