'Escapade' is a great example of the popular Bill Lapworth designed CAL 39, built by Cal Yachts of Costa Mesa, California. This is a modern racer/cruiser with a performance hull, tall mast, and deep fin keel. She was designed for comfort and speed. This is the two cabin, two head design. All new standing rigging was installed by Brian Toss Rigging in 2009. NavTech hydraulic vang and backstay. The cabin is a spacious, open layout boasting 6'3" of head room. She has a double v-berth cabin forward, with a roomy head immediately aft with shower. Two closet style gear lockers are opposite the head, with a separate door to provide privacy. There are two large settees in the main cabin area, along with a full size table with two folding leaves. The galley is aft on starboard with a huge refrigerated locker, an A/C and engine operated freezer locker, and two large dry pantry lockers. Galley has a new Force 10 gimbaled 3 burner stove with oven. Across from the galley is the second full size berth with private head and shower, and two hanging lockers. The self bailing cockpit is a t-design with seating for six, a port storage locker and large capacity lazarrette. The deck is clean and tidy and ready to sail. Plenty of winches on deck provide easy access to all halyards and main lines. There are also 5 working winches in the cockpit. New anchor with 300' of 3/8" chain rode. This is a comfortable, fast, solid cruiser/racer. She sails like a dream and is built to last. All new standing rigging installed in 2009. New bottom paint, mast and boom painted in 2009. Fin keel, keel stepped mast. Barient self tailing winches. Perkins 4108 diesel. New anchor with 300' of 3/8" chain rode. New Force 10 stove, with new propane tanks and locker. Full battened main, 115% Genoa, spinnaker, stay sail, 3 size spinnaker poles. Furuno radar, VHF, new depth-sounder. | ||
