The Sparkman & Stephens Tartan 37 was an immensely popular boat. Production began in 1976 and ran through 1989. Quality construction, an extraordinary designer, sailing performance that was hard to beat, and a comfortable and roomy interior made this boat hugely desirable, both then and now.
CRICKET is hull 145 of 489 constructed and was built in 1978 as a 1979 model. She has had excellent care and shows beautifully. She is clean and neat with a hull that sparkles. Her bilges are as clean and dry as any you will ever find. Come have a look while she's still in the water.

Sleeps six. V berth forward with hanging locker port and drawer storage to starboard, enclosed head with macerator, vanity and shower next aft to port. Holding tank and all hoses replaced in approximately 2008. Access to head from both forward cabin and main cabins. Hanging lockers opposite to starboard. Main cabin next aft with L-shaped settee to port, bulkhead-mounted teak table with leaf, and settee and pilot berth opposite to starboard. Sit-down forward-facing nav station and quarterberth next aft to port, U-shaped galley opposite to starboard. V berth cushions new in 2011 by S&S Fabrics with 5" memory foam.
U-shaped galley features Isotherm ASU3701 12 volt refrigerated icebox, double stainless steel sinks with hot and cold pressurized water (12 gallon hot water tank), and Origo two-burner non-pressurized alcohol stove.
12 volt DC and 110 volt AC dockside systems. 12 volt system includes two Group 31 12 volt AGM batteries (house and starting) with precision voltage meter, battery selector switch, and breaker panel. Balmar MC-614 multi-stage voltage regulator. 110 volt system includes breaker panel, 30 amp shore power cord. A number of interior light fixtures have been converted to LED. 15 amp AC smart charger. Ganz Echo Energy solar panel for charging batteries.

Furuno 16 mile radar with mast-mounted radome, Autohelm ST4000 autopilot with wired remote, Datamarine digital apparent windspeed/direction indicator, Datamarine knotmeter/log, two Datamarine depthsounders, Standard Horizon Intrepid VHF transceiver, and Ritchie SP-5 pedestal-mounted compass.
Hull and Deck
Shoal draft design with centerboard. White hull, white decks with contrasting tan nonskid, blue cove and boot stripes. Blue bottom. Edson pedestal wheel steering (In 2012 pedestal was sandblasted and powdercoated, cables, bearings, and wheel brake were replaced). Bow anchor roller, Lofrans Project 1000 12 volt electric windlass with corded remote control at bow and rocker switch (up and down) at helm. Double life lines with gates port and starboard, transom-mounted stainless steel swim ladder. Eight opening ports, two overhead hatches, two stainless steel dorade vents, two clamshell vents. Midship cleats, port and starboard, mounted on genoa track. Salt water washdown pump with hose connection on foredeck. Varnished teak seating in cockpit.

Fully battened Doyle Stackpack mainsail (2014), 135% roller-furling genoa in good condition, 150% genoa in good condition, 110 % roller-furling genoa in good condition, storm jib in good condition, storm tri-sail in excellent condition (seldom used), tri-radial spinnaker with gear, ATN Spinnaker Tacker and spinnaker sleeve (http://atninc.com/atn-spinnaker-sleeve.shtml), Schaefer roller-furling system for headsails, Forespar rigid boom vang, telescopic spinnaker pole with deck mounts. Tides mast track and slide system for mainsail (2014). Lewmar winch inventory includes two #48 self-tailing genoa sheet winches, #16 two-speed winch for roller-furler control line, #16 self-tailing winch on port cabin top for mainsheet and port traveller control line, #8 single-speed on starboard cabin top for centerboard and starboard traveller control line, #40 two-speed genoa halyard winch on mast, #16 two-speed main halyard winch on mast.
