This Olympic 47 center cockpit Ketch is a solidly constructed yacht that combines remarkable live aboard comfort with on the water performance and security needed for blue water passages.
Legendary yacht designer, Bob Perry, has claimed credit for drawing the lines of this Yacht while working in conjunction with noted naval architect Ted Brewer. This Greek built Olympic 47 is a fine example of a well constructed performance blue water cruiser designed by the man who created the category .
In a recent post on Yacht Design, the notoriously straightforward and often critical Bob Perry, characterized this Yacht's lines with praise and noted how her performance, modified full keel also supplied a roomy interior.
It is easy to overlook the attributes of solidly built Blue Water Ketch in the modern market. This Perry/Brewer design features the renown "Brewer Bite" keel design which features a modern style vertically set rudder aft coupled with a substantially cut away lateral plan forward for reduced wetted area and higher performance.
This feature combined with the cutaway forefoot makes for a vessel that performs with many of the attributes of a fin keel yet still provides the stability, security and ultimate safety of a full keel yacht
This Olympic 47 was built in Greece and extensively refitted in 2012-2013 for long term cruising. She has a roomy interior that features full headroom and natural light while still being a very sea kindly design. Blue water features such as a Full sized Chart table, massive storage capacity and excellent engine and generator access reflect a design philosophy that allows this boat to sail wherever your dreams guide you.
Surveyed in 2013 with a Market Value of $200,000 this boat represents an incredible bargain for those looking to find their adventure now.
