Paralda is a lovely example of a Westerly 31 Longbow, a solidly constructed traditional displacement fin keel cruiser with Gelcoat finish, rigged as a ketch, providing excellent performance under sail and spacious predominantly wooden interior. She has been well maintained and improved since purchased by her current owners in 2002.
Her rigging includes a part-battened, slab Mainsail & Furling Genoa Headsail (both made by Ratseys of Cowes), Storm Jib and spare mainsail. The sprayhood has been refurbished and new sail covers were fitted 2016.
She has been re-upholstered throughout, including the cockpit cushions which with the removable cockpit table provide a comfortable seating area on deck.
The headlining in the saloon has been recently replaced.
The galley includes stainless steel sink and Flavel B700C gas stove featuring oven, grill and 2 burners and is extremely clean. There is 1 cool boxes here and another under the seating.
Ample seating and a folding table make a comfortable and roomy dining area in the saloon, which converts to 3 single berths, where we also find the sliding chart table. There is plenty of storage behind, above and under the seating.
The manual heads with sink and mirror are midway and opposite a tall, very useful wet locker .
The forecabin has a double Vee-berth, shelving and storage below.
Engine and Maintenance: The 35HP Volvo MD17 engine has been regularly serviced by the owner (last done August 2016) since being installed in 2006, and the injectors sent away to be serviced every 3 years, last done in 2014.
Last Antifouled August 2016. Last surveyed 2013 (copy on file).
