I am a life long sailor and sail maker. My wife is from Holland where a practical boat with fine lines is expected and appreciated. Our priorities were for a simple, low maintenance boat for day cruises and very occasional overnighting. We wanted sweet lines and good handling, and I wanted to be able to run the boat in any kind of weather on the Chesapeake.
This Seaway 23' has delivered that and more. Everyone comments on her look and she has been a joy to own and run. Now with the kids out of college, we have more free time so we are looking at larger boats, but along the same line.
The previous owner operated a boatyard in Tidewater Virginia and kept her to a high standard. We have done the same. In addition to normal oil changes and other engine maintenance, all the belts, hoses and impellers have been replaced within the last 18 months. The Exhaust elbow was replaced a few years ago. The bottom was stripped, dried and epoxy barrier coated in early 2012. Her bottom and cockpit were painted in August 2015.
So that's the brief story-a sweet looking, sweet handling small cruising powerboat, currently in light use and totally ready to use!
