Rio is the standard Grand Banks 36 Classic Tri-Cabin layout. There are two berths in the master aft stateroom, a double to starboard and a single to port. There is a large hanging locker and drawers, private head with manual marine toilet, shower, vanity and storage. There is also a companionway with teak fold-down steps leading to the aft deck.
The mid cabin is comprised of the salon and galley as well as lower helm.
Forward and down a few steps is the forward cabin with two single berths, a hanging locker and six drawers. There is also a private head with manual marine toilet.
The salon features large windows allowing lots of light and ventilation. There is a small settee to port and a larger L-shaped settee to starboard with a drop leaf table.
There is a teak bar cabinet forward of the starboard settee with storage drawers and space for glassware. The L-shaped settee will seat four adults comfortably. The port settee has drawers underneath. The cabin sole is teak parquet

The galley is forward of the port side settee. The galley boasts quite a generous work space counter top and ample storage in cabinets and drawers.

Deck and Exterior
The hull and decks were extensively surveyed in 2011. No blisters or structural voids found. Approximately half the exterior bright work has been redone and is in excellent shape. The remainder is in fair condition.
The boat is exceptionally tight. During normal operation the bilge remains completely dry. The exterior decks are the original teak plank overlay and are in good condition.
The side decks are generous, providing safe and secure walk around on both sides, as well as forward and aft.

The engine room underwent a complete refit during the winter of 2011/12. This included removing the engine ashore for a complete reconditioning to zero time. Complete plumbing renewal, electrical upgrades and full re-coating of the bilge compartment. Some highlights are:
