Angelus, #153, is a 22' Friendship Sloop built by Chuck Collins of Bass River Boat Works in Massachusetts in 1976 from the Passamaquoddy/Ahern mold. She is a fiberglass boat with a fiberglass deck assembly and aluminum spars. Beta Marine diesel engine. She sleeps 2 below with a sink, 2-burner alcohol stove, and a portable head. Her classic gaff rig, clipper bow, and sheer are not only graceful but provide stable and safe sailing for family and friends. Angelus was built by Chuck Collins of Bass River Boat Works in Massachusetts with a fiberglass hull and deck assembly. 2000 lbs interior lead ballast. Exterior trim is both varnished and painted teak, rub rails are natural teak. Varnished teak trailboards and name board on transom.
1992 Beta Marine 12 1/2HP diesel engine. Hours are estimated at less than 200. Raycor filter. Wheel steering. 2-blade bronze propeller.
Fuel: 12 gals in two 6-gal. plastic tanks.
Two 12V batteries, main is in engine compartment, second battery is below the cabin stove. Master Switch and circuit breaker panel is located in cabin. Navigation lights, port & starboard, and mast head light.
Sails and Rigging
Main sail, Jib, and Staysail are in good condition. Canvas cover for main, jib is self-furling, and staysail is seldom used.
Mast, boom, and gaff are aluminum. Staysail boom and bowsprit are wood.
Stainless steel standing rigging, cast bronze fittings at the ends of the bowsprit and mast. Ports and bowsprit stays are bronze. Chain plates are galvanized steel. All fastenings are bronze or SS.
Deadeyes and blocks are lignum vitae. Bronze deck hardware.
In cabin aft of rope locker is a portable head, center line. Next to port is a sink and to starboard is a cabinet with alcohol stove. In aft cabin are two 6'9" quarter berths port and starboard with cushions, storage below. 4 opening bronze ports. Outboard shelves, 5' headroom.
Up in cockpit is seating for 4-6.
