The Irwin 42 combines appealing traditional design with performance and comfortable luxury in a ketch rig. The forward v-berth cabin, features teak spindle railing fronts, a hanging locker and a bifold privacy door. The forward head compartment provides a electrasan marine head with vanity. Storage lockers and a molded tub with shower are only a few of the many practical and convenient features. Moving aft to the main salon, a settee and a custom dinette allow comfortable dining. To starboard, a settee and navigation station are complemented by generous use of teak companionway grabrails, bulkheads, removable stripped cabin sole, and a removable companionway ladder - all in beautifully durable teak. Two steps down from the main salon, the galley is fully equipped with a three-burner, gimbaled propane stove and oven, a refrigerator/freezer, filtered drinking water and dish locker. To port and two steps down from the main salon is the walk-through passageway. Convenient and practical, the passageway allows passengers to move from the main salon to the aft stateroom without going topside. The passageway features a sloped, hinged chart table with work bench, tool stowage and an instrument shelf with outboard compartments and teak fiddle fronts. The owner's stateroom of the Irwin 42 features a double berth with stowage bin beneath and a sofa / berth with upholstered backrest, complemented by teak panels.
