OSIRIS is a 1974 53' Gulfstar Motor Sailer that was refitted in 2001. For the past 10 years the owner has cruised her all over the Caribbean, and due to a serious illness now has her up for immediate sale. She presently is in drydock, as her owner is in the process of repainting the hull exterior, installing new insulation in the engine room, and doing other refits. Her updates are considerable and extensive, and this is an excellent opportunity for someone to own a ketch rigged, shoal draft, motor sailer, ideal for a liveaboard or for cruising the shallow waters of Florida and the Bahamas.

OSIRIS was sold to her present owner in 1991, by our company. The owner is a retired ariline pilot who refitted her throughout the 90's and then for the past 10 years has cruised the entire Caribbean, full time. The upgrades have been continuous, so that at this point she has far surpassed what Gulfstar had originally built. She is safer, set up to be single handed, and has had her mechanicals either replaced or rebuilt. At this time she is in the process of getting her hull repainted, and her engine room re-insulated. Major updates include:
A whole new bottom of vinyl ester resin & isopythalic mat that cured the original blister problem, indefintely.
In 1998 the Perkins engine was shipped to Complet Yacht in Ft. Lauderdale, where the engine was rebuilt to a "zero time" engine. Presently showing 4200 hrs. on her.
In December of 2005 a new 9.5 Kw BetaMarine genset was put in to replace the old unit. Presently showing 4271 hrs. on it
The pilothouse is of all aluminum construction, with the helm relocated forward in the cockpit for better visiblilty and ease of sailing.
All sails are handled from the pilothouse, with a set of brand new sails and set of spare backups, presently in the fwd. stateroom
The original Gulfstar construction encapsulated the lead ballast in concrete, for safety in any "groundings".
Lightning protection via a large copper grounding plate on the keel
The equipment list, along with all of the updates are so extensive that you need to contact Howard for a copy of the "MASTERS NOTEBOOK" for the boat to fully understand her. This describes the work and care that has gone into this shoal draft, cruising, motor sailer.
