This Fjord 33 Motor Sailer was built in 1974 by Fjord Plast and was designed by Eivino Amble, she has a double ended, long keel profile. Built with two different interior layout’s this version features a large wheelhouse which includes an inside steering position, navigation station and a quarter pilot berth. Saloon with linear galley and double berth and two berths up forward of the heads in a “V” berth. Mandrake is offered for sale in very nice condition and would make an ideal family cruising boat with a deep safe cockpit which also features an outside steering position. This boat is now at Kip in advance of Scotland’s Boat Show 14 – 16 Oct 16.

Built in 1974 by Fjord Plast and designed by Eivino Amble, the hull deck and superstructure are all in off white GRP and she has a double ended long keel profile with internal encapsulated ballast and a balanced rudder with hydraulic wheel steering in an aft style cockpit and and additional steering position in the wheelhouse.
5 berths in two cabins with 6' 5" of headroom and eberspacher D2 heating in both cabins. Interior is finished in varnished mahogany and tartan cotton upholstery.
Forward cabin with two single berths in a "v". There is a wooden infil to convert to a double berth but no cushions.
Heads are thwart ships between the forward cabin and the saloon with a toilet on the stbd side and a wash basin with hot and cold pressurised fresh water and a shower on the port side.
Saloon has a linear galley on the port side with a Shipmate gas 3 burner stove, oven and grill - made in the USA by Richmond Ring Co. Sink with pressurised hot and cold fresh water and a Coolmatic fridge. Ample storage space is provided in shelving cupboards and drawers. To stbd is a four seater dinette which can be converted to a double berth.
The wheel house is aft of the saloon and slightly raised providing good all round visibility for driving the boat from inside. The 12v ship's electrical panel and steering position with morse controls is on the stbd side of the wheel house and the navigation station with chart table being stbd aft. To port is a spacious single quarter berth with a trotter box. Engine, battery and calorifier are below the wheel house and are easily accessed under lifting boards.
Beta BV1505 4 cylinder inboard marine diesel engine (9 years old) with shaft drive to a right handed three blade bronze fixed prop.

Note; When changing over from cockpit to wheelhouse it is important to know that wheel steering changes automatically as you touch the steering wheel, however, the morse throttle controls don't change over automatically. Throttle must be placed in the neutral position before engaging the alternate throttle control.
The ships electrical system is 12 volts with the electrical panel and battery isolation switch being in the wheel house on the stbd side adjacent to the steering position. Powered by 3 Gel type batteries (130ah) which were all replaced in 2014.
