32' Crealock Dreadnought Cutter - Dreadnaught Cruising Sloop Cutter For Sale
MIO PADRE is a William Crealock designed double ended cutter with fiberglass nonskid decks and solid layup below the waterline. The hull was built by Dreadnought Boatworks of Carpinteria California, and shipped by rail cross country where she was owner finished to a very high standard. Under her current ownership she has had numerous upgrades. She has been sitting out of the water for about 1.5 years and does not look as fine as she once did, but could come back again in the right hands. She is still in sound shape, and has many years of sailing ahead.
She is attractively priced and the seller is motivated to sell.
These capable double enders, can be found cruising all over the world, and this boat is ready for the next owners adventure. She shows much newer than her age would otherwise indicate as a result of her current owner's efforts to maintain her.

Mio Padre is cutter rigged. Sails and sail covers are in excellent condition. 110% Genoa on single line profurl roller furling system. Additionally, a furled staysail with a boom that makes it self tending.
Down below, both natural light and airflow are provided by 8 bronze opening portlights, one overhead transparent hatch (forward cabin) and two dorade vents. Layout is traditional style, with the galley and chart table just next to the companionway, just forward there are two berths, and an additional pilot berth to starboard. Moving forward, there is the head to port, across from more storage leading into the forward cabin v berth. There is plenty of storage throughout the cabin. Mio Padre sleeps four to five people. The interior is finished in Herreshoff style- white paneling with Tounge oil trim accents. The coach roof is supported by beautiful laminated supports.
The boat's hot water system has a brand new water heater installed this year and can be powered by both the boat's engine or shore power.
Access to the immaculate engine room is via the removable companionway, behind an access hatch.
Deck and related equipment
The deck on the boat has offshore safety in mind considering her high bulwarks, non slip surfacing and smaller cockpit with bridgedeck to quickly drain away any green water. Steering is by a wooden (highly varnished) tiller and large fiberglass rudder hung of the stern of the boat
The hull is solid hand laid glass with a plywood cored deck. The hull to deck joint is bonded and completely through bolted. For added strengh the chain plates are through bolted at the hull sides.
The tapered mast and spars are made of Sitka Spruce and fir, and are properly varnished. The mast is deck stepped supported by a robust king post inside the cabin.
For ground tackle there is 175 feet of chain attached to a Bruce anchor mounted on a bow roller and easily handled by the electric anchor windlass. A stout Sampson post is mounted at the bow for dockside tie up.
Both the deck and topsides have been recently painted and show very well. She is equipped with shore power.
There is also a peapod rowing dinghy which has a matching blue whale stripe that compliments this double ended yacht nicely.
