Fully restored Alaskan Grand Banks 49 that can leave for Alaska or Acapulco tomorrow morning! This is a rare factory flybridge model with a real ships bow. heaver built then the traditional 42' Grand Banks and made to handle the tough North West environment!! Were are talking about a 4" thick hull and 20,000 extra lbs!! Thicker walled black iron fuel tanks, 3/8", not 1/4" as in most Grand banks. 400 gals water allws for long showers & fewer marina stops. No stabilizers necessary on this boat as she is built deep in the water and has a very low Center of Gravity (CG). Factory installed 3 A/C units with high -output North West heaters!. The Navel architect did not believe in standup engine rooms or thrusters because of the H/L ratios. I think there is more boat under the waterline than on top, however, the engine room is very excessable and al the gear is easy to get to . The owner bought her 7 years ago in Seattle and money was no object back than. The owner did the inland passage, San Juan's and Mexico.

The owner obviously put a lot of money into this Grand Banks. The sink fixture alone cost more than most chart plotters. The owner bought two Bar stools new from Nordhaven and had Prime fabrication, do endless SS fabrication. Granite counters were added , about 500lbs lbs of granite throughout the entire boat and the galley was redesigned to entertain 10 people, and accommodate two working cooks. The two generators were completely rebuilt, both transmission completely rebuilt AND an on board spare trans was added!! Every hose and through hull on the boat was replaced. That was 20K at South Coast Shipyard and 15K at Ocean Alexander shipyards in Seattle.

All the backing blocks were replaced, transducers etc., etc. If it was not shiny or if it was old looking it was replaced by the owner. The hot water heater cost $1,000 dollars, Its polished stainless steel! Custom Sound Down generator boxes/covers were designed for two gen sets and two manifold risers. A 10Hp stern thruster by Side thruster was added. Another 15K was spent for All new headliners, custom drapery and custom beds, Custom designed sofa w/ leather throughout for another 10K. Completely new Vacuum Flush duel head system were installed!

Additionally, the owner spent $40K 2 years ago to have the entire vessel painted w/ Sterling Paint and, flew in from Seattle a professional wood craftsman to replace a few small sections of the hull near the bow anchor - nothing structural but the owner wanted things ship shape. Tanks in awesome shape, engines only broken in at 2200 hours according to The god of Ford Lehman Engines on my survey. On board is about 8K in spare parts that include two 4 blade spare props (never touched), new oil coolers and heat exchangers and a two page list that took 3 years to complete for a multi-year cruise. The boat has BOTH hydraulic and mechanical steering and a back up tiller. Cameras are installed in the engine room etc.

During a 1200 mile trip from Cape Flattery non-stop to Long Beach, passing outside all Columbia River & San Fran traffic, average speed in any direction was 8.4 to 9.6, at 1750 RPMs burning 1.37-1.47 Gal per engine. Approx 4 gallons per hour 5 w/ gen set.

This is a 1973, one of the last hulls produced at the Hong Kong big boat shipyard. The boat was designed for cruising and or live aboard.

The owner installed a separate 1,000+/- Amps (4) L-16 no maintanence oversize batteries w/ Link monitor to be used ONLY for inverter and stern thrusters and underwater lighting. Completely separate from the original "3" battery banks for the gen sets, engine and house. Also installed is a brand new 1,000lb davit winch for jet ski. In other words, it is a completely bullet proof electrical system and you can be at anchor for a week watching TV glowing in the dark and never to worry about weather your lights, heads or electronics work. There is also a separate emergency battery so even if the boat is half sunk all the electronics will just work fine. That's a scary thought!

Galley: Last year the owner installed a brand new princess glass top stove/ oven, SS trash compactor, microwave with built-in toaster and backup smaller fast oven. You can baked bread/ cookies or cook a roast on board while underway or at anchor. It's like heaven on earth!!

Head system, also new w/ 2 of those $500 dollar vacuum pumps that MUST work all the time, be it at the dock or in Turtle bay.

New Fabrica carpeting, cushions, custom drapes and entire vessel has new headliner with custom insulation for colder climates.

This is a ready to cruise yacht owned by a veteran yacht owner that knows he will never get back the hundreds of thousands he invested in the boat. Come by, take a look, and make an offer!!
