Caper is a well maintained and gently sailed pleasure boat that has been in her current family for over 20 years. She is sailed primarily as a day boat for picnics and sightseeing in Penobscot Bay, but she offers berths for 2, a galley area, and an enclosed head--all to facilitate overnighting. She moves right along at 17-18 knots, topping out at 24. In 2016 she was varnished, decks painted, and new canvas and isinglass cover installed not launched due to a change in owners' plans. However, Caper is in the water for this 2017 season and is a nice example of a well-built and designed Downeast pleasure boat that has been professionally maintained and stored inside.
