The 41’ Davidson Sloop is a strongly built and well executed off-shore capable vessel designed to sail. “Kavenga” deserves your attention! She was designed by renowned New Zealand Naval Architect Laurie Davidson and professionally yard built in Auckland, New Zealand. Her underbody sports a modern cruising fin keel and a full skeg protected rudder. This underbody is a sensible configuration that gives great performance and maneuverability under sail. "Kavenga" was originally sailed from New Zealand to Vancouver and has been used locally as a cruiser and live-aboard since. Her hull is ferro-cement and is without a doubt the best example we have ever seen. The general consensus regarding ferro cement as a boat building material has unfortunately been that it is something to be avoided. While it is true that many "ferro" vessels could be termed amateur built backyard disasters, this medium of construction if well executed is an excellent option for an offshore vessel. Her deck and house are of wood, principally very high quality South African mahogany plywood, with well laid fiberglass sheathing. Everything has been built to be incredibly strong and functional. "Kavenga's" double spreader rig is well done and has new standing rigging since 2005. This vessel would be suitable and capable for both local and extended cruising. If you are looking for an out of the box, well designed robust cruiser this may be the one for you.

The aft. cabin has a large double, comfortable seating and a wood stove.
