David Stevens Lutwick Schooner

"Mora" was built in 1972 by David Stevens on Second Pennisula, Lunenburg County, NS and named for one of his granddaughters. She was originally built to sail against 37' Chester "C" class boats as a marconi sloop.

In 2006, the current owner had her rebuilt and rerigged as a gaff rigged schooner including rigging her for a main topsail and a fisherman staysail. Her rerigging cost over C$50,000 and was completed by Billy Lutwick with design review by Murray Stevens(David's son).

"Mora" needs some fresh varnish and paint but appears to have been well maintained and updated. A recent survey is on file.

For schooner sailors, she represents value, beauty and speed for a fraction of her replacement cost.
