This East Anglian Special was built in 1970, but to look at her, you would reasonably expect Alona to be a yacht of half her age. This East Anglian was built by J May of Gravesend, and has been well looked after and maintained since the time she was first launched. Alona was built with an extra topsides plank and this provides 6 ft of headroom throughout. Built of Aformosia on laminated oak frames, Alona is very strong and particularly attractive both inside and out. Her paintworks are in very good condition and with new standing rigging in 2012, and up to date racing sails, she is well set to cruise and perform well amongst racing fleets.
This East Anglian has been kept by owners who appreciate traditional wooden yachts. It's a no frills, but comfortable yacht, which capitalises upon a great design from the distinguished, Mr Buchanan.
