Recent Complete Restoration! For the truly hard core New England fisherman, the most important aspect of their pursuit is the ability to venture out in the most chaotic of conditions as this of course, is the optimum time to fish for Stripped Bass. Broad tailed and powerfully built, Stripped Bass are opportunity feeders and are frequently whipped into a “feeding frenzy” when the skies are gray and seas are roughest. It is for this reason, that New England fisherman needed a boat that could confidently get them to the racing, froth ripped shoals; and then home again to tell the tale. Over the years, the Brownell 26 has garnered a solid reputation among bass fisherman up and down the New England coast. Her solid construction, full keel and forgiving chines have proven to be extremely stable and rugged in the rips, shoals and rock congested shores of New England. The Brownell bass boat dates back to 1957 when the New England firm of Eldredge-McInnis drew the lines for a 26’ bass boat to be built by Brownell Boat Works of Mattapoisett, MA. The same design is the predecessor of the popular Fortier 26 Bass Boats. This particular boat was built in 1970 and recently received a complete restoration by one of the most esteemed New England boat yards. She is now as beautiful as the day she was completed and has been re-powered with an 8.2 300 H.P.
