Victoria is one of the last and certainly one of the finest of the S&S cruiser models built by the Burger Boat Company. Her teak and walnut interior has been greatly enhanced through multiple refits, converting the twin bed master stateroom to a queen berth, and adding many custom built-in and free standing furniture pieces. The current owner has continued the process, extensively updating the propulsion, shafts, electrical, plumbing, electronics and navigation systems a well as her cosmetic features including fabrics, upholstery, lighting and hull paint.
From the helm there is full 360-degree visibility. A leather upholstered bench seat is positioned aft of the helm, with a window above it that opens to the aft salon. Beneath the seat are several large drawers. Convenient access to the side decks and boarding stairs is thru port and starboard sliding teak doors with teak framed screens. There is also a door with a screened window through the starboard side aft pilothouse bulkhead, which opens to the aft deck salon. The pilothouse is air conditioned with its own set of controls. The control panel was rebuilt with new electrical panels installed. Also added were new electronics, windshield washers, horns, and Formica counter tops.
From the pilothouse a single door opens to the air conditioned aft deck salon. Port and starboard teak framed wing doors lead forward to the side decks. There are sliding glass windows to port and starboard with teak wains coating below. A freestanding couch and armchairs flank a teak hi-lo table for use as a lounge area or for aft deck dining. The varnished teak wet bar is built into the forward bulkhead, with cabinet storage, a beverage refrigerator and sink. The aft deck salon has overhead and indirect lighting. Double doors in the aft bulkhead open to the aft deck area with easy access to dock lines. A center deck hatch opens to the lazarette, while an offset ladder gives access to the transom and swim platform. The wood panels and window slides for glass were all replaced 2010.
Down a few steps and forward from the pilothouse is the main salon, surrounded in rich walnut paneling and furnished with a sofa, end tables, cocktail table, and upholstered lounge chairs. Furniture was reupholstered in 2010. Custom cabinetry is built into the aft bulkhead enclosing the entertainment center, storage closet, drawers, and a writing desk. Large windows on each side of the salon provide natural lighting with a center opening window allowing natural ventilation. There are lamps and overhead lighting as well as indirect lighting in the main salon. Two separate air conditioning units easily regulate the salon temperature. Entertainment equipment includes a 32” Sony Bravia flat panel television, Direct TV receiver with the option of dockside cable or SeaTel satellite TV, Yamaha RXV 870 stereo receiver, Sony CDP CX53 50 disc player and speakers throughout the boat.
Forward in the main salon on the starboard side is a short stairway leading down to the full width galley and dinette area. To port, the U-shaped galley is furnished with a full sized Kitchenaide side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, a GE 4 burner electric stove and oven, a convection/microwave oven and a double stainless steel sink. There are ample cabinets for storage both overhead and beneath the counters. To starboard is a built-in dinette with upholstered seating at a pedestal mounted table seating six. Additional storage can be found beneath the seating. Excellent lighting from overhead, indirect, and port lights on each side of this area provide a bright, clean ambience. There is a bilge access hatch in the galley sole.
The master stateroom is aft of the salon. The centerline queen berth has large built in drawers underneath and is flanked by bedside bureaus port and starboard. There are built-in drawers and hanging closets on each side of the stateroom. There are reading lamps above each side of the bead along with overhead and indirect lighting. There are opening port lights on each side of the stateroom, while the aft bulkhead is separated from the vessel’s transom by a watertight lazarette compartment. The ensuite head is forward to starboard with an enclosed shower/tub.
Forward to port is a guest stateroom with twin berths and a bedside bureau between. There is a hanging locker forward and large drawers beneath each berth. Bulkhead mounted reading lights complement the overhead and indirect lighting along with the opening port light to provide comfortable light and ventilation. The guest stateroom head is across the hallway to starboard and has a separate, enclosed stall shower.
Forward from the galley and dinette area is a crew/guest cabin with upper and lower berths to port, the ensuite head is to starboard and a separate stall shower is forward. There is a full length hanging closet forward of the head along with numerous drawers for additional storage. Access to the chain locker is through a watertight bulkhead door forward of the crew shower. An overhead deck hatch from the crew/guest cabin provides light, ventilation, and deck access when desired. There is an opening port light over the upper crew berth and in the crew head. There is a bilge access hatch through the cabin sole.
