Martin has many years of marine experience having learnt to sail in a Wayfarer on the Solent. Then followed an Enterprise dinghy, racing on Oxford’s Farmoor reservoir and sailing in the harbours of Chichester, Christchurch and also the River Rock at Padstow. Day Skipper (Sail) was gained on a Moody 36 out of Chichester to Alderney, Jersey and Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue. Day Skipper (Power) was gained on a Trader 44 out of Kingswear /Dartmouth. A share in a Van der Stadt design yacht on the River Hamble led to several Fairey powerboats including competing in an anniversary Cowes-Torquay event. One of those Fairey boats was a wooden Cowes-Torquay racer that Martin comprehensively renovated. Professionally, he started with high-technology engineering before writing computer programmes so evolving into the information technology sector.
