PRICE REDUCED and OWNER WANTS OFFERS--The ship "El Conquistador" was originally built in Montreal, Canada by Canadian Vickers Ltd in 1938 as a tugboat for use on the Great Lakes. In 1969 the ship was re powered with two Ruston six cylinder turbo charged engines from English Electric and updated throughout. The ship was moved to Vancouver, British Columbia and pulled barges loaded with lumber for years until she was retired from active service in the 90's. In 2000 the ship was rebuilt into its present configuration with a full restaurant and bar seating 60 and 14 double guest cabins all with en suite bathrooms.Vessel was built to lloyd's Class + 100A-1 Strengthened for navigation in ice - hull 1/2 inch core 10 steel.
When the ship was converted in 2000 a lot of work was left unfinished. Since that time and especially in 2008 a lot of this work was completed. The restaurant and bar are now fully functional and the large galley is fully equipped. New refrigeration equipment has been installed in the forward walk-in cooler, the aft walk-in cooler, and the back bar cooler. The fire suppression system in the galley is new. Two deluxe toilets have been built between the bar and the galley for the convenience of patrons. The restaurant has a new entertainment center with two large flat screen tv's and sound system and there is a pellet stove for comfort. Several of the cabins with bunk beds have been converted into larger deluxe cabins with double beds. There now are two of these cabins and another one is under construction. There are also two new cabins with ouside entrances, one is a single and the other has bunk beds. The eight remaining double cabins have bunk beds and the captain's quarters has a king bed. All cabins have a toilet, tiled shower and a sink. There are eight cabins for 15 crew.

All guest cabins are located on the main deck and have outside entrances and a minimum of three windows each. The restaurant/bar, galley, captain's cabin and wheel house are located on the second deck. The upper deck is completely open and accessible and ideal for parties and special occasions. It has an awning and bar.

The ship has two large waste water holding tanks, one forward and one aft. Much work has been accomplished in piping waste water to these tanks. There is a large fresh water tank and a new fresh water treatment system. In addition to the two Ruston main engines there are three gen sets in the engine room, a 20kw, a 40kw and a 80 kw. The 80kw genset is new, the others are rebuilt.

The wheelhouse is equipped with modern navigational equipment and is fully refurbished. There is a telephone system linking all important locations, there is a fire alarm system, a satellite TV system, and much more. There are two 19 foot custom built aluminum jet boats powered by six cylinder engines on the fore deck along with a service crane. There is also a 50 man inflatable raft.

Current work:

In addition to converting the two regular cabins into one deluxe cabin, there is a program underway to remove all rust from the lower levels of the ship, replace all damaged parts, and repair bulkheads to satisfy Coast Guard inspectors. The entire ship has been painted but the ship still needs to be hauled to clean and paint the bottom and install new zincs. The hull will be audio gauged at that time as well. When the ship was converted in 2000 a lot of work was left unfinished. Since that time and especially in 2008 a lot of this work was completed.
