"Chesapeake" was the former state yacht of Virginia, and is a beautiful, first-class, custom-built aluminum cockpit motoryacht. She has a raked stern, transom stern with swim platform and cockpit, low raised house forward, raised pilothouse and semi-enclosed aft deck. Her present owners have spent over a million dollars completely refurbishing her. The 1997 refit included extensive re-plating of hull bottom, topsides, and tank tops. The majority of her machinery and equipment has been rebuilt or replaced with new. All of her systems, i.e., electrical, air conditioning, pumps, appliances, electronics were replaced during the refit and have been brought up to modern standards.
"Chesapeake" is a fine example of Burger quality. (The Burger boat company in Manitowoc, Wisonsin has been building distinguished yachts since 1863.) This very desirable yacht is in excellent condition both inside and out and is a rare opportunity to acquire a piece of history! This beautiful vessel was hauled in May 2006 and the bottom painted and the hull waxed.
