Schless Liveaboard

Minden is one of many Fireboats built on the River Rhine in Germany.

She was commissioned by the Schless-Werft yard to a very high standard in 1962 and was used as a working Fireboat until her retirement in the mid eighties when she was purchased privately and converted to a liveaboard by her previous owner.  Her main Deutz engine delivers 180 hp giving her a maximum speed of 10 knts with plenty of torque.  Two smaller hydraulic wing propellers driven by a separate smaller diesel provide close quarter manovering when coming alongside.

She is lying here at Emsworth Yacht Harbour and is currently for sale as her current owner wishes to purchase a larger vessel.  Minden is an ideal liveaboard - she is a river boat at heart but has been cruised extensively around the South West coast.
