Present owner bought "Marionette" in 2002 in San Diego , knowing that previous owner had carried out much restoration including having the hull wooded and coated with epoxy, full re-wiring , deck repairs, furling systems.
Present owner brought the boat to the Pacific Northwest in 2008
LOA 52ft LOD 50' 6" LWL 37'6" Beam 13' Displacement 28,000 lbs.
Draft 6'8" Gross tons 19
Hull - 1-1/8" Philippine mahogany bronze screw and monel screw fastened to 1-1/2" x 1-7/8" steam bent oak frames on 10" centers. Joining every frame pair over the keel are 1-5/8" thick floor timbers up to 16" deep. The aft floor timbers under the cockpit on 20" centers are 18" deep of 1" plywood butted & doubled on the centerline on every other frame. The 2-1/4" x 3-7/8" sheer clamp bolts to every frame head. The backbone includes a 12"x 12" horn timber and 5-1/2" x 9-1/2" x 7" mast step.
Ballast Keel - reported to be 9000# cast lead with 3/4" bronze keel bolts.
Bulkheads are 3/4" plywood. Deck is 1" plywood cold molded to the crown of 4- layers of 1/4" plywood and is self supporting.
Extensive works completed 2012-13. Cockpit & coming is new. Port & starboard decking from trunk cabin aft replaced. Top half of transom replaced. Parts of starboard aft trunk cabin side repaired or replaced as found. Re-skinned cockpit bulkhead. Repaired five broken frames amidship at mast. Re-set butt blocks amidship. Replaced several soft planks , port & starboard. Refastened bottom below waterline, including hood ends & garboards. New teak stateroom, head & closet doors.
Sails - 130% furling genoa and furling main. Inspected, recut & rehung by Hasse in 2013.
Mast & Rigging - double spreader 5" x 8" hollow box section wood mast thru partners in cabintop to substantial maststep. Standing rigging 1x19 stainless steel wire with rotary swaged terminals and bronze turnbuckles.Forestay from masthead to stemhead fitting and carries a Spin Tec roller furling drum and foil. Chainplates bolted to planking. Backstay from masthead to deck plate with tie-rod to horn timber. Mainsail furling system was built and installed just prior to the present owners purchase of "Marionette."
Winches - primary are Lewmar 44ST, mast winches are Barient 16 & Arco 40 halyard winches. Original Barient Bronze primary and secondary winches come with boat.
Forward cabin - v berth 6'5" - 4' @ head reducing to 3' 2 foot, shelving
Head to port with shower and aft to passageway past hanging lockers. Door to second head outboard & door to second cabin aft on centerline.
Port cabin has double berth ( 6'10" x 4' reducing to 3'), locker & door to port head forward.
Passageway opens aft to main cabin with U-shaped settee & folding table forward to port and pilotberth outboard. Forward to starboard is a settee with removable backrest for berth - port berth 6'6" x 4' , starboard berth 6'6" x 3'6".
Galley aft to port with navigator station , chart table and electric panels to starboard. 3 burner propane stove with oven, 12V refrigeration, double stainless steel sink with pressure fresh and hot water.
