WA, United States
Built for Marconi International Marine Company in 1962, she was their third 'ELETTRA' and truly no expense was spared in the construction of this company's research yacht! Today she sports her original name, much of her original gear, historic documentation (with photos, original manuals, etc.) and many modern upgrades including a bulbous bow (with water storage), bow thrusters, watermaker, rebuilt mains, navigational electronics, etc.
Uniquely functional layout includes a main deck with forward lounge (that originally housed Marconi's array of radio equipment), updated midships galley with granite & maple, day head, and main salon opening to the aft deck. Below are two staterooms and heads with showers forward, plus office and two staterooms aft with head and shower. Engineroom is amidships with full standing headroom.
All the best true ship features are on board: serious steel bollards, Freeman hatches, wide walk-arounds with high bulwark protection, (3) cranes plus Nordic hydraulic windlass, all watertight doors, drystack with passage up and down, and more. Originally rigged with Vosper active fin stablizers, the fins were removed in favor of rolling chocks, but may be restorable for offshore passagemaking.
An amazing sea boat, she carries 3,400 USG fuel and 4,000 water (including 1,000 in the bulbous bow). It would be nearly impossible to find a vessel with this much documented nautical heritage that is as capable and functional for global long range cruising and/or living aboard. Next time you see a yacht trying to look like a working vessel, THIS IS WHAT THEY'RE TRYING TO BE...

Delivery after sale was up the West Coast from California, and her excellent seakeeping impressed everyone on board. She's been freshwater moored since then while not on extended trips to Alaska and around the Pacific NW. CALL for details...
