SOPHIA is a very handsome “Downeast” Hardtop Cruiser, built in 1960 by the well-known “Gus Skoog” boatbuilder from Vinalhaven. Gus Skoog was believed to have built 110 “Downeast” style lobster boats and cruisers. Recently, SOPHIA’S previous owner installed a new varnished mahogany pilothouse and interior, with raised paneled doors, varnished deck beams, etc. New fiberglass over plywood decks were installed also. This present owner has upgraded her electrical panel, installed a new Radar-GPS, and new attractive berth cushions, and did $4,000-$5,000 worth of engine upgrades (see mechanical). SOPHIA is an exceptional offering with a nearly new interior. Please call for your inspection and thank you for your interest.
