DOLCE is a 41' Concordia Yawl - built in 1957 by Abeking & Rasmussen (Germany) and sold and commissioned by Concordia Company. She has been maintained by good owners and Concordia Boatyard since new.
25 of the 103 Concordias were built 41 feet (or 40'10") with the rest 39s (or 39'10"). The 41s have slightly taller and broader house tops which give a bit more high volume to the interior. The tradeoff is that some feel the sheer line is less perfect than that of a 39.
1 1/8 African Mahogany over steam bent oak frames on 9" centers. Teak deck, canvas covered hose top, varnished mahogany house trim, teak cockpit, white topsides, blue boottop & green bottom make DOLCE both traditional and beautiful.
She has a 35 hp Yanmar diesel new in 1990.
Standard Concordia layout: two berths forward (stowage ahead), followed by the head to port. Wilcox Imperial toilet, new holding tank & plumbing 2009, galley aft. Interior raised paneled pine with varnished locust trim. Interior paint & varnish in good condition.
The primary reason that this boat is available at 120,000 and not quite a lot higher is that she has an aluminum main mast. The original owner, for performance reasons replaced the traditional box sitka mast.
She is structurally, cosmetically, and systematically in very good condition.
A unique characteristic of DOLCE is the lack of a bridgedeck. While this makes long offshore passages less likely, it adds quite a nice open transition from cockpit to cabin which enhances communication from galley to cockpit and allows greater ease of movement.
