Together Bjarne Aas and his rival Johan Anker meant that Norway contributed two of the most significant designers in the International Rule Classes. – Aas was also instrumental in the CR (Cruiser/Racer) Rule of 1950 which sought to encourage yachts with designs suitable for both cruising and ocean racing and YANIRA was a product of 12 Metre CR version of this Rule. Bjarne Aas’ designs had a reputation for being seaworthy, beautiful and fast – YANIRA qualifies on all three. She has enjoyed the same Spanish ownership for more than 20 years and has been one family’s glorious focal point both cruising the Mediterranean as well as classic race regatta wins now too numerous to list. This has boat has a hull sections that allow her to beat modern designs in the right conditions but excellent accommodation below; huge deck space and taking her roots from a sea kindly 12 Metre – who could want for more?
