Herreshoff Herreshoff Yawl 1951/2004

"Arion" was designed by Sydney Herreshoff and built by the Anchorage in Warren Rhode Island in 1951; she looks like an enlargement of the famous Rozinante (28') but incorporates contemporary design elements such as light displacement ,fin keel (5'6" draft] spade rudder and modern deck hardware.

"Arion" was stripped down to her solid fiberglass hull in 2002 thru 2004 and completely rebuilt with new Dynel, epoxy plywood decks, varnished mahogany cabin, all new interior, spars, deck hardware, engine, wiring, plumbing, etc.

With her 39' waterline, light displacement (10,000lbs) and easily driven hull, "Arion" is very fast indeed, reaching double digit speeds with ease; her modest sail plan and modern deck hardware allow for single-handed sailing. While she is a glorious daysailor, "Arion" can accommodate four for short cruises.
