Built as an affordable cruiser racer by Charles Nicholson for a post-war market, this yacht demonstrates the innovative ideas of this great designer. Her extreme and unusual lines proved her to be a very fast yacht but she fell on hard times until discovered a few years ago by the present owner who was captivated by her history and set about a major restoration.
Canoe body with a fin keel and stepped deck line. Conventionally planked in mahogany with a sheathed ply deck, lead keel, bronze bolts.
Fractional bermudian sloop rig on alloy mast. Stainless steel rigging, mainsail and jib.
Bukh 20hp diesel.
4 berths.
In the refit, all the frames in the midships area were replaced and the hull was sheathed using epoxy and a 600gm cloth to make her stronger than original. The fin keel was rebuilt, the keel bolts replaced, the deck replaced in epoxy-sheathed ply, the engine rebuilt, the rigging replaced, the cabin joinery replaced, new rudder and new electrics.
She may be unusual but she will give you some exciting and very fast sailing and is in very sound, clean condition.
