"Cara Barca” was built by the Bell Wallace Company in Moorehead, NC for a Providence, RI owner Frederick Towle and originally named “Fleetwood”. She was renamed to “Alicia” in 1930 and then to “Cara Barca” in 1939.

In 1953, “Cara Barca” was sold into Canada and remained in Montreal region where she was restored in the early 1990’s. Sold back into the USA in 1997.  She is currently in Narragansett Bay, RI with current owner acquiring “Cara Barca” in 2003.

She is built of 11/4” single planked long yellow pine on white oak frames. Her covered walk around decks are awl-gripped fiberglass. All inside deck soles are solid oak and the cabins are bright, varnished mahogany in an elegant raised panel design. Everything varnished except galley/dining area.
