General Description

Siris is a truly stunning yacht that is one of the fastest Neptune compliant 8 Metres in the world. Originally raced in the Mediterranean in the 1920’s, she had considerable success including winning the Coupe de France. She returned to the UK in the 1930’s where she lived on the Isle of Bute on the Clyde up until the late 1980’s. In 1999/2000 she underwent a total re-build at Fairlie Restoration on the River Hamble where she was finished to and exceptional standard. She has since competed successfully both at local & international events with various trophies for first & second place. Her most recent success was at the Voile de St Tropez where she came 1st in class. She has appeared in numerous sailing magazines with Classic Boat ranking her in their Top 200 of the most beautiful yachts in the World. She has a current rating certificate issued by the International Eight Metre class Association & until 2006 had both CIM & IRC.

This Eight Metre International Classic offers a very rare opportunity to own a true piece of yachting history. Built in 1925 of wooden construction, Siris is an absolutely beautiful yacht, a fact backed up by its recognition by Classic Boat Magazine as one of the top 200 most beautiful yachts in the World. With her current rating certificate issued by the International Eight Metre Class Association, she is still a competitive boat in this highly regarded and greatly followed racing series that always draw good crowds and high levels of interest. Having been completely restored to concourse condition in 2000 by Farlie Restoration on The River Hamble, and owned for nearly 20 years by a passionate and well respected Eight Metre Owner, Siris is in fantastic condition and still turns heads wherever she goes.

Eight Metre International Classics do not come onto the market very often and ownership of Siris is sure to bring huge satisfaction and pride to her new owner. If you are interested in classic racing or simply want to own a stunning piece of history then Siris is a must to view.
