She was built as a gaff yawl in the spanish yard Stow & Son, on a H.T. Stow design. She was then later transformed into a classic ketch, then into a modern ketch until she underwent a total rebuild during the winter of 1996 in the United Kingdom. The restoration lasted 18 months, saving only her hull and her structural elements. All the interior layout, deck, masts and helm was completely redone. The renewed keel was attached to the hull with stonger bolts, a new rudder was designed with a central opening for the engine transmission shaft. The finest materials and craftmanship was used for the rebuilding of this unique craft. Electricity, deck equipment, Diesel engine, communication systems, and comfort equipment were added, in respect of her genuine appearance, thus contributing to render her easy and comfortable to sail.
