42' Hylas 42 - Double Cockpit/Tall Rig
This is the last built of the 42' Hylas fleet, number 22 of 22 built from 1985 to 1989 by Queen Long Marine Ltd. in Taiwan. A semi-custom line, used extensively for charter operations, they were built for blue water and discriminating customers. She has made passages from north American ports in Puerto Vallarta, San Diego, Hawaii, San Francisco, Seattle, and British Columbia. She is now ready for a new cruising sailor owner, and is outiftted with most everything needed for a circumnavigation.
She features a large aft stateroom with a centerline queen berth under double cockpits. Mid-ships are the galley, auxiliary engine, companionway, head, and forward facing Nav Station. Next forward are a "U" shaped dinette to port and a settee to starboard. The v-berth is forward of the dinette and in the bow.
She has received many cruising upgrades over the years, and has been used for both passages and day sailing by her owners. She has not been raced. On deck, she has a center cockpit with companionway entrance, followed by an aft, step down cockpit with helm and sail controls for the captain, hence the "double cockpit" designation.
If you are a serious sailor, whether locally or for longer passages, this is a boat you should take a long look at. The design and construction sophistication of the Hylas line is evident on this boat, as are the numerous cruising upgrades added by her current owner, making this vessel one to dream about, and one to own. A great yacht club addition!
Now back on the market with a huge price reduction, and ready to be sold. Don't wait! This incredible, high quality ownership opportunity will be gone if you do. Call now and schedule your personal viewing.
