2013 Dubois Cup: Megayacht Competition Supports Charity

Over three days in June, owners and lovers of the designs of Ed Dubois converged on Porto Cervo, Sardinia. This invitation-only event combined racing and socializing with raising funds to help find cures for childhood cancers.

When we think of a “Cup” we think of racing, but the invitation-only 2013 Dubois Cup had as many non-racing participants as competitors. Which was a very good thing, because how would you score motor yachts like Ad Lib and Como against sailing megayachts like Zefira, Timoneer, and Bliss?

The regatta also helped to raise awareness for the Dubois Child Cancer Fund, which was created to raise a significant sum for ongoing research into rarer types of childhood cancer such as Neuroblastoma.  Ed Dubois is committed to helping increase survival rates by funding specific research that is peer-reviewed by specialists in this field.

This video was produced by Quin Bisset of Q&K Media in association with Roxanne Hughes from Dubois Naval Architects Ltd. And if you enjoy this teaser, make sure to watch out for the full length video, which will be available once sponsors, owners and clients of Dubois have seen it.
