30' Wyliecat 30
Margay is perhaps the simplest, fastest and most pared-down example of the venerable design. There are Zero (0) thru-hulls on the boat! She sports a large, square-top Hansen performance sail, and outboard 9hp Merc outboard auxiliary. The rudder-post is updated carbon fiber construction. She has a custom dinette table that lowers to create a massive comfortable sitting area below-decks. She looks like a 3-year old boat, due to the owner's diligent upkeep. I have personally sailed this boat, and I can attest: Margay is a very fast Wyliecat 30.
"The Wyliecat 30 features an efficient hull, an optimized cat rig and are simple and easy to own and sail. You will find yourself sailing and using the boat more than any other boat you have ever owned. The 46-foot carbon-fiber mast is designed to bend, allowing the top of the sail to “depower” as the wind increases. The result is a simple and effective “automatic” sail trimming system. There are 3 control lines: Halyard, “Choker-line” and Sheet. That is all! The result is a boat that anyone can learn to sail well and sail safely in a very short time. The high ballast ratio and superb form-stability make the Wyliecat a joy to sail in any wind condition: Displacement: 5,500 lbs., Ballast, 3,050 lbs., Draft, 5´3˝ (lead-bulb high performance keel). The family of Wyliecat sail boats are versatile, safe, fast, have exceptionally high resale value and are very low maintenance. We believe that performance sailing doesn’t need to be complicated, uncomfortable, or a lot of work. Sail one for yourself and see."
