Bob Craven, the owner and Yacht Broker, has been involved in boating for over 55 years. His grandfather introduced him to sailing during the construction of a Tahiti Ketch between 1948 and 1951. The ketch was built, launched, and sailed single handedly between Connecticut and Florida for many years. Although that boat is no longer with us, the memories and experiences began a lifelong love of boats and yachting. Bob is currently the owner of a Pacific Seacraft Sailboat and in the process of restoring a Classic 1931 Matthews Standard Cruiser (repowered with a 2007 Cummins Diesel). Bob has been selling yachts in Santa Barbara for several years and has developed a good understanding of the type of yacht that is safe, pleasurable and practical for the Santa Barbara Channel and the Channel Islands. A 40-year interest in competitive sailing and being the helmsman on an Alerion Express 28, has led Bob to a keen eye for the next class to be on top or fitting out a yacht to race. Our key to satisfying CUSTOMERS, however, is to determine what yacht THEY want, what yacht meets THEIR needs, and what yacht meets THEIR budget. Our goal is to have satisfied customers who come back to us for all their needs in boating. This yacht is a CLASSIC WOODEN SAILBOAT in look, in design, and in performance. MAYAN has been owned for more than 40 years by David Crosby of Crosby Stills and Nash. It was very extensively rebuilt (>$600k) in 2005 by Wayne Ettel in Wilmington, CA. The details of the rebuild were featured in WoodenBoat magazine #187/66. The boat is a very powerful design that takes the weather very well. The cabin layout is very traditional but easily sleeps eight in three staterooms plus a large saloon double berth. The boat has been continuously upgraded since 2005 with the addition of new electronics and continuous maintenance by paid hands. A very valuable 76ft end tie is available for transfer to the new owner in Santa Barbara, CA
