Based at Chertsey, Bates Wharf Marine Sales have recently invested £1.7 million into the largest Boat Showroom and Chandlery on the river Thames. This compliments our existing Marina and Workshop facilities. No longer do you have to endure the rain & cold in order to see the boat of your dreams. Adjacent to our main showroom we have a dedicated on land sales area and on water pontoon for our larger sportsboats and cruisers.

As agents for Sessa Marine, Chris Craft, Maxum, Bayliner, Fletcher & Yamaha Outboards we will always have on display a good selection of new boats and engines available for immediate delivery. In addition we have a selection of high quality used cruisers & sports boats.

At Eastbourne in Sovereign Harbour Marina, Bates Wharf Southern has recently re-located to new and larger premises beneath the Sovereign Harbour Yacht Club. Ideally located, our new offices have a split level showroom combined with a dedicated sales pontoon and hard standing area immediately adjacent. The harbour boasts the Waterfront shopping area featuring bars, restaurants and boutiques to complete what we hope will be a pleasurable days outing.

In addition to Sessa Marine, Chris Craft, Maxum, Bayliner, we are agents for Beneteau Yachts, the World's largest sailing boat manufacturer. Our used sail and used power sections feature well-known, good quality brands.

We are one of the oldest boat companies on the Thames today and were established over 100 years ago as "Taylor and Bates". They built their first boats in the late 1800s and, in 1934, W.Bates & Son was formed. During the war and with over 150 employees, air sea rescue vessels, sea plane tenders and the like were built for the MoD. Just after the war, the first of the famous but now classic "Star Craft" went into production and in 1948, W.Bates & Son were of the first ever exhibitors at the new Motor Show in Olympia.
