57' Garcia Malibu 57
1995
€580,000
The Malibu 57 was built in aluminium in 1995 in the rules of art by the french yardshipper GARCIA, benchmark construction of aluminium center-board.
On Philippe HARLE plans, the Malibu 57 is a one shot building remarkably well-balanced which gives very good performance with high feeling of security.
The Pierre FRUTCHI design is simply remarkable.
The saloon deserves its own detour : the central bench is positioned on the centreboard casing with a record which allows removable sit facing the dining table on the left side, facing the living room and the chart table to starboard.
At the rear starboard, you have a large double cabin (bed of 1.90 x 1.35 meters) and a head. On the left side, the U-shaped kitchen is slightly down compared to the saloon.
At back of the kitchen, you accessed via the cockpit at a workroom which houses a workbench and water-maker.
Since this workroom (as well as from the cabin starboard and companionway), you have the local engine which houses a VOLVO TAMD41 6-cylinder 146 hp and generator Nothernlight of 6 KVA under cocoon.
In front of square on starboard, there is a beautiful cabin with a single bed (1.85 x 0.75 meters) and at port, a bathroom with separate shower and washing machine.
You can access then forward the magnificent cabin owner with his double bed of 2.00 x 1.40 meters.
At delivery, the current owners sailed in the Mediterranean Sea until 2003, the year of the first transatlantic to the Caribbean Island.
You find it in the attached inventory some equipments from 2003.
From 2003 to 2007, they sailed in the Caribbean Island every year from November to April, the rest of the time, the boat was wintered under a plastic tarp in Trinidad Island.
In 2008, they comeback in France. Arriving in May, the boat is visible on shore in southern Brittany.
After 13 years of splendid sailing, the actuals owners want to get rid of "Malibu" to return to navigate closer to European costals. To this end, they are currently building a Fife plan in wood of 40 feet.
It is understood that the equipement on board is complete and in very good condition.
The boat is ultimately alone an invitation to travel. At our last visit, we have ourselves been only desire was to return the boat afloat and hoist the sails for TRAVEL....
Please click "FULL SPECS" and you will find a complete inventory with many pictures taken in southern Brittany by Erwan TAULOIS (Manager for the AYC International Yachtbrokers Lorient agency) on 11th July, 2008.
