In 1987 he moved to Newport Beach from Salt Lake City where he immediately procured a position selling new and brokerage sailboats. From that time on he has steadily increased his knowledge of the yachting industry and joined Ardell in the Fall of 2000.

Peter Reed
Sailing became part of my life when I was nine and my family moved from Palm Springs to Newport BEach, California. I worked as a beach lifeguard in high school and as a Harbor patrolman while attending college at USC. I was also a member of the national championship swim and water polo teams. During this time, I also has a successful career sailing in dinghy and Olympic class boats culminating in the Soling class Olympic trials in 1972. My offshore sailing career began with crewing 50-70 foot ocean racers in local and overnight trips to Mexico. I have raced in a number of transpacific races to Hawaii, Tahiti, Australia and Singapore, the Southern Ocean Racing circuit to the Bahamas. I have skippered cruising yachts across the Atlantic from the Mediterranean to the Bahamas, Caribbean and West Indies, Panama to California and all through the Northwest and Southeastern United States and the Western Canadian waters.
Besides having a great deal of fun on the water, I also flew combast missions as a Navy pilot in Vietnam and had a full career as a commercial airline pilot while working for over 33 years as a yacht broker in Southern California, the Pacific Northwest and Florida.
With my extensive cruising and racing background, I believe I can help you find the ideal vesel to meet your specific needs as a boater. I have participated in new construction projects from Europe to New Zealand and have located boats for my clients from all over the world. I try to specialize in quality and value for my customer. Having a client thank me for his or her wonderful new boat and talking about my kids' accomplishments bring me the most joy. I look forward to adding you to my list of satisfied clients and good friends.
