I am Eric Husher, the CEO of Topsail Yachts, and based on a number of enquiries from clients, customers and other brokers, I think it is a good idea to present you with a brief potted history of my background (Bored already? Jump to 'Yachts for Sale!').

I have always been involved with boats, and have always been fascinated by the sea. Starting at the age of four, I taught myself to row a boat (mostly in circles because my parents refused to let me bring up the anchor!), and at age eleven taught myself sailing at the Community Yacht Club on the Charles River in Boston. At age 14, I managed to talk my way into a scholarship at Tabor Academy, where I learned the fine art of sailing large traditional craft such as schooners ('Tabor Boy' and 'Serendipity'), as well as 420 racing. This was followed by a boating hiatus while attending college in Wyoming (fly-fishing became an overwhelming passion!), followed by a twelve year stint in the US Army Intelligence Corps, with service in Honduras, the Gulf War, and Bosnia too.

While working and sailing in Europe was a lot of fun (and I strongly recommend it to anyone!), the pull of my native waters of New England finally made a return a certainty. It just remained to determine what basis a return could be made! As yachts and boating had in one way or another always been a central feature of my life, I determined that I would finally have to bow to the inevitable and find some way of making a living with boats. In the year 2000, yacht brokerage became the answer.

Since that time, I have gained invaluable experience, not only through buying and selling my own boats, but working with other brokerages and other brokers before finally founding Topsail Yachts in August, 2001. It is this expertise and experience that I and my staff bring to you, our clients and customers.
