Welcome to Topsail Yachts!
Topsail Yachts is a full service yacht brokerage designed to meet the needs of discerning customers with a taste for classic yachts and unusual designs. We really like yachts that are DIFFERENT from the usual ranks of white plastic that you see stretching across every marina. There are (and have been) any number of outstanding yacht designers and builders of magnificent yachts throughout the world such as Cherubini, Walsted, Knud Reimers, Alan Gurney, Fife, Owen and others. Yet many of these are virtually unknown, and it is our mission to maintain a selection of these international classified listings for your perusal. We also make it a point to have on our listings better recognized classic designs from the pens of Alden, Herreshoff, Crocker, Owen and others made famous over the years, as well as standard production types (Hinckley, Wellcraft, Cape Dory, Catalina, Gulfstar, Irwin) to suit all tastes and budgets.
Most brokerages (and brokers too for that matter), have little familiarity with traditional or classic yachts of either gaff or bermudan rig (marconi), and therefore do their best to either steer clear of them entirely, or represent them poorly. Remember, European and American classics of every type from catboats to schooners, and even Baltic traders are our speciality! We make it a point to research each and every listing to find out as much as we possibly can, and have that information available to you, the customer.
While unusual yachts represent a splendid niche for us, we also realise that most people are looking for more standard types of yachts, such as sportfisherman, trawlers, and motoryachts, and so do our best to maintain a selection of these as well. Finally, because we spend a lot of time wandering around the lesser-known boatyards in search of classic and custom yachts, we often come across boats that are either about to come on to the market, or COULD be for sale if the price was right. For this reason, if you are looking for a particular yacht, please feel free to give us a call. WE LIKE TO DO YACHT SEARCHES!
Topsail Yachts is centered and headquartered in the sailing and boat-building capital of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and offers superlative levels of service and sales expertise including financing, insurance, moorage and equipment to fit your cruising, racing, power and sail brokerage needs. You may see us in the future on our corporate yacht 'Veteran' (see photo above), which we intend to use as a mobile office at boatshows and remote locations. Keep an eye out, and feel free to knock on the hull and say hello!
Have a look at our current listings, and check back frequently! If you don't see the boat you are looking for, please send us an email and we will scour the market to find you the right boat at the right price for you.
Best Regards,
Eric Husher CEO Topsail Yachts
