He is an expert boat handler, licensed Coast Guard Captain (100-Ton license), part time boating instructor and avid sailboat racer. As if that weren’t enough, Colin has an encyclopedic understanding of boat models, power systems and electronics so much that his wife refers to him as the Google of boats. Colin and his wife moved to Anacortes in 2004 after three years in row of fantastic bareboat charter vacations. A native of Britain, but raised in Newport Beach, CA, Colin brings a wealth of experience to his role at ABC. John Hackstadt is a boat nut. In fact, his wife Michelle is amazed that after a lifetime of boating and 6 years in the industry John still loves to look at, think about and be on boats. He and his family (Lovely wife and three beautiful daughters) currently live in Anacortes, WA.
Previous to ABC, he worked for the christian organization Young Life. Some boaters may be familiar with one of Young Life's camps, Malibu, which guards the entrance to Princess Louisa Inlet. (by the way, you are invited to stop in at Malibu and get some to their homemade ice cream.)He moved to Anacortes to get Young Life going there. When the new area was established John was looking for the next challenge. By that time he and his wife fallen in love with the waterfront town of Anacortes. and made a decision to stay and settle down. John purchased ABC Yacht Sales in December of 2006.

Ladies and Gentlemen, meet Bob Palmer. Bob represents ABC Yacht Sales in Bellingham and Whatcom County. Bob has been a resident of Bellingham since 1970 when he moved there to finish his college degree at Western Washington University. He and his wife Patricia, have just recently returned to Bellingham after living in Kauai for five years. Bob has been an avid boater since buying his first boat in 1972 and has never been without a boat since. Whether you’re a fisherman or island cruiser, Bob’s firsthand knowledge of what makes a “great” boat and what to consider when looking for a pleasure boat for exploring our local islands, will be of tremendous value in helping you to find the boat of your dreams.
