765 YACHTS was DESIGNED TO SOLVE the fundamental MARKET PROBLEMS that yacht sellers, yacht buyers and yacht brokers all face operating within the TRADITIONAL 10% BROKERAGE business model. The 10% fee is obvious. Consumers feel it is excessive, they are openly opposing it, and most importantly from a technical market standpoint, it is impeding the proper functioning of the secondary yacht market and is preventing buyers and sellers from completing transactions. For yacht sellers, especially at the higher end of the market, the 10% fee causes a lot of deals to fall apart. On a $600K deal, the seller who is expected to pay $60K in fees, finds he is not left with enough money in his pocket to have the deal make sense. For yacht buyers, the old adage, that the seller pays the brokerage fee, and that they need not worry about what rate is being charged, rings hollow with most consumers. Their offer has to be high enough to cover the brokerage fee, or the seller won't accept the offer. So in reality, the fee being charged is as important to the buyer as it is to the seller. Our 7-6-5 sliding fee schedule (7% on the first $300K, 6% on the next $300K, and 5% on the balance) means that on a $600K deal, 765 Yachts charges $39K, instead of $60K, and the $21K in fee SAVINGS hopefully pushes the deal over the goal line for both parties and GETS THE BOAT SOLD !
